Somersettneighborhood guide

Somersett sits on the northwest edge of Reno where the valley starts climbing toward Verdi and the California line. The community is organised around the Somersett Golf & Country Club, with a mix of single-level homes, two-story family plans, and townhomes ringing the course and the open space that surrounds it.

The neighborhood draws two very different buyers: families who want newer construction with a clubhouse and pool, and downsizers who want single-level living without leaving Reno. Sierra Canyon, the active-adult section within Somersett, has its own amenities and a distinct resale market.

Because so much of Somersett was built in phases, condition and finish level vary a lot between streets built ten years apart. That is where knowing the community street by street matters more than reading a listing description.
